🌿 Celebrations and Special Moments
at All Souls

At All Souls, we believe that celebration is a holy act

— a way of giving thanks, building fellowship, and honouring the journey we share in Christ.

Below is a guide to our key communal celebrations and liturgical moments,

each one an opportunity to grow together as the family of God.

🕊️ 1. Shared Celebrations
Fellowship and Joy in Our Church Family

Throughout the year, we come together as a community to enjoy time with one another in love, laughter, and hospitality. These events help strengthen the bonds between generations and reflect the joyful heart of our parish.

  • Lunch for Older Members of All Souls

A warm, seated lunch to honour and connect with our older parishioners.

  • Bingo Night

A relaxed evening of fun, food, and light-hearted competition.

  • Summer Fair

A joyful, family-friendly celebration open to the wider community.

  • Parish BBQ

Sharing food, stories, and fellowship outdoors as one parish family.

  • Harvest Concert

A vibrant celebration of Thanksgiving through music, praise, and reflection.

  • Dinner & Dance

A special evening to gather as a parish for a shared meal, joyful movement, and celebration of life together.

✝️ 2. Liturgical Celebrations
Marking Sacred Time Together

In addition to the major festivals of Lent, Easter and Christmas, we observe several important moments in the Church’s liturgical life — some rooted in tradition, others unique to the life of All Souls.

Renewal of Vows and Leadership:

  • Anniversary of the Vicar’s Licensing (2 February)

A time for the Vicar to renew his promises before God and the All Souls family, and to recommit to shared service and faithfulness.

Celebrating Relationships and Family:

  • Mothering Sunday (4th Sunday in Lent)

  • Father’s Day (3rd Sunday in June)

These days are marked with gratitude, prayer, and blessings for the caregivers in our lives.

Identity and Heritage:

  • Feast of Dedication (nearest Sunday to 26 April)

Honouring the consecration of our church building as a place of worship and community.

  • Africa Day (nearest Sunday to 25 May)

Celebrating the rich cultural heritage, witness, and contribution of African members of our congregation.

  • Windrush Day (nearest Sunday to 22 June)

Giving thanks for the legacy of the Windrush generation and praying for justice, healing, and remembrance.

  • Harvest Festival (early Autumn)

A joyful service of Thanksgiving for God's provision and a time to share generously with those in need.

  • Remembrance Sunday (nearest Sunday to 11 November)

Marking a moment of silence, memory, and prayer — honouring those who gave their lives in war and committing ourselves to peace.

  • Black History Month (Final Sunday in October – Parish Celebration)

A service of celebration and reflection on the global Black Christian heritage and our ongoing call to justice and unity.

🛐 3. Annual Parish Pilgrimage
(
September – One-Day Parish Pilgrimage)

Each year in September, we journey together to a place of Christian significance — a chance to reflect, worship, and deepen our shared discipleship in new surroundings.
